CREATION CENTRE
As a production and creation centre, Tabakalera will be a tool for creative artists and their projects.
It will provide resources, such as work areas, amenities, production means, specific programmes and knowledge consultancy, in order to facilitate creation, boost production, and stimulate innovation and partnership between artists, creative industries and citizens.
The Creation Centre will be underpinned by three main core areas:
EXHIBITION CENTRE
At Tabakalera, “exhibition” is used for those processes aimed to showcase any type of works or projects, whether they are audiovisual, sound or objects. The processes can be in a virtual or physical environment and can showcase a completed work or aspects of their production and design process.
Exhibition in Tabakalera includes showing films, video, television, multimedia, along with standard exhibitions, concerts or sound events, theatre, performances, installations, etc.
As an exhibition centre, Tabakalera will be a place to discover of the different expressions of contemporary audiovisual and visual culture.
KNOWLEDGE CENTRE
As a knowledge centre, Tabakalera will foster training linked to production, critical debate on contemporary culture and will provide an information service, that is fundamental for the overall running of the Centre, by means of a media library, set up to be a dynamic response to new digital information access conditions.
The media library is an information management centre that is a benchmark in the field of visual, sound and audiovisual documentation. It operates in the logics of the digital era and its priority target is to facilitate access to information, by focusing on the face-to-face and virtual users and providing them with a wide range of services.
