ANIMAC at Tabakalera
2 - 6 March, 2010 at Tabakalera and ArtelekuAnimac, the International Animated Film Festival of Catalonia, it’s a non-competitive exhibition addressed to those artists who use the animation as tool for their personal expression. Transgressing and questioning the limits of the traditional narrative, it seeks visionaries, independent and risky works that boosts and enriches the expressive capacities of the animated films.
Each year
Arteleku (Donostia-San Sebastian) collaborates with Animac and it organises activities, workshops and projections related to the Festival. In 2009
Tabakalera joined that collaboration and hosted the Animac program for children. This year, on the 6th of March, for the second consecutive year,
Tabakalera will host an animation workshop and a screening of best animation films for children created in 2009.

This workshop teaches story telling and solving riddles by playing with Chinese shadows and optical toys. A fantastic journey through the period prior to films, where the participants will be able to recreate and think up stories using the device that preceded film making. The participants (adults and children) will learn to build up a performance based on acting, painting, sound, voice and the light movement.
