For the first time, the San Sebastian International Film Festival and Tabakalera have organized the VII International Film School Meeting. 15 short films have been selected representing 14 cinema schools from Colombia, Cuba, Spain, the United States, France, Israel, Morocco, Poland and the United Kingdom.
The aim of the Meeting is to support young creators of the audiovisual medium, by creating a space to show their works, where discussion and reflection on new narrative forms, the changes in the pedagogy of cinema, the incorporation of the new technologies or the cultural internationalisation processes will be promoted.
The jury members will be students of the participant schools and their chairman will be the Israeli director Amos Gitai (Kadosh, Edén, Free Zone). Their job will be to choose the work awarded with the aiTe Award (Association of Technical Industries of the Spanish Audio-visual Sector). The same jury will also choose three directors who will have the opportunity to participate with their works in the next Cannes Festival's Short Film Corner (2009).
Among the parallel activities, the students coming to the International Film School Meeting and other professionals can participate in the master class on 3D audio-visual organized by aiTe.
