Science week is an annual event brought to us thanks to the backing of the European Union whose aim is to promote scientific culture among citizens. For this year’s edition, Tabakalera is offering the programming organised by the University of the Basque Country, with astronomy as the pivotal theme.

Curating programme: module 4. Directed by Nora Sternfeld
This last seminar of the curating programme, that will analyse the mediation through the perspective of curatorial practice, will be directed by the curator and educator Nora Sternfeld. The module will also include the participation of Ahmed Al-Nawas (curator and educator based in Helsinki) and Ayşe Güleç (cultural worker, educator and activist based in Kassel).

The 0-6 Space is the result of a participative design and construction process. It is a space for children aged 0-6 and their families to be together, play and carry out a variety of activities. It is a mobile space that can be activated in different locations in Tabakalera.

Hirikilabs Plaza are the sessions taking place every Thursday afternoon, open laboratory sessions. An environment for interaction with individuals, groups and communities of practice, so that together they can make ideas evolve from DIY (do it yourself) to DIWO (do it with other people).

Coinciding with the International Architecture Biennial of the Basque Country, we envision a programme of activities aimed at the exploration of inter-disciplinary limits (architecture, design, industrial design, maker practices and DIY and DIWO) and the boundaries between the tools of digital production spaces and the ways of sharing knowledge.
