Kasper Akhøj works with film, sculpture and photography. He has had solo exhibitions at NMNM - Nouveau Musee Nationale de Monaco (2017), Overgaden Institute for Contemporary Art, Copenhagen 2010, Künstlerhaus Stuttgart, Germany 2009; and Wiels Center for Contemporary Art, Brussels 2011. His work has also been shown at MoMA PS1 Performance Series, New York (2012); Art in General, New York (2009); 28th São Paulo Bienal (2008); and the 50th Venice Biennale (2013). In 2010, he was artist-in-residence at the 29th São Paulo Bienal and at Platform Garanti, Istanbul.
Although not formally a duo, he often works in collaboration with Brazilian artist Tamar Guimarães. Together they have collaborated on solo exhibitions at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York (2017), the Baltimore Museum of Art (2017) and the De La Warr Pavilion (2018). Their works have also been shown at group exhibitions at LACMA, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (2017), Charlottenborg Kunsthal, Copenhagen (2017), the Belgian Pavilion of the 56th Venice Biennial (2015), the 31st São Paulo Biennial (2014),
the 55th Venice Biennial, International Exhibition (2013), the 11th Sharjah Biennial (2013), and the Jeu de Paume Satellite, Paris (2012) among other venues.
