Mikel Agirre

He became interested in the problematic relationship between human beings and the Earth whilst studying Social Work. He concluded his studies with an investigation into the urban community vegetable gardens in Gipuzkoa. During the last few years he has worked as a street educator for the Haraino Astialdi Taldea leisure group, promoting initiatives that bring children and young people closer to nature and the rural environment. He has completed postgraduate studies in Agroecology, carrying out research into agroecology education and putting it into practice. He is involved with two urban vegetable gardens in San Sebastián: the Park of Nurseries of Ulia and the neighbourhood vegetable garden in Trinidad Square. He is currently working on a project geared towards professional production with the aim of making the leap to the rural environment.
