Representatives from international contemporary art museums and centres visit Tabakalera

This past weekend, the CIMAM was held in Barcelona, an annual meeting of international contemporary art museum and centre professionals. This meeting is one of the most important in its field, and is mainly comprised of curators and directors from contemporary and modern art centres.
The goal of this meeting is to pool ideas on topics relating to the management and development of contemporary art museums and galleries. In addition to debating topics relating to the profession and pooling project ideas, participants also have the opportunity to participate in a complementary programme. In this case, with the help of DSS2016EU, this complementary programme brought a large part of the conference's participants to San Sebastian, who are representatives from some of the world's most important centres for art.
In San Sebastian, they had the opportunity to visit Tabakalera with its director, Ane Rodríguez, and see the projects and programmes that the Centre is developing. Following the visit to Tabakalera, the tour continued with a visit to the San Telmo Museum and Chillida Leku, following which they moved on to Bilbao, where they will visit both the Azkuna Zentroa and the Guggenheim Museum. To finish up the post-conference tour, participants will visit Santander, where they will drop in to see the Botín Centre and Foundation.
