Science Week 2017

Zientzia astea - Science week 2017
Share this:

Zientzia Astea is the Science, Technology and Innovation Week organised by the University of the Basque Country, providing anyone who’s curious about the world around them — young or old, children or adolescents — with the opportunity to see, listen to, feel and talk about science with those who work with it on a daily basis.

Botany, mathematics, archaeology, astronomy, genetics, sport, geology, chemistry, telecommunications, robotics, history, dendrochronology, engineering, painting, physics, language, biology... these are just some of the fields that anyone can learn about and experience up close in Zientzia Astea.

For this year’s edition, Tabakalera is offering the programming organised by the University of the Basque Country, with astronomy as the pivotal theme. In this context, we take the opportunity to give visibility to the work done by the laboratory’s astronomy community, as well as organise talks on the concept of Science for Citizens and what selftaught people and amateurs of the scientific world have brought to the table.

  • Workshops
    11-11-2017 - 10:00 and 10:30

Heat can be seen, and even photographed. In this workshop we’ll use a thermographic camera to observe thermophysical phenomena. We’ll discover how houses lose heat, how small household appliances work, and more.
